If you're low on funds, maybe try something like a manicure or pedicure for a special treat? Or getting an old photograph enlarged and framed, finding a film your mum really liked from her childhood, a book, something that's really personal to her? Often it really is the thought that countsA [STRIKE]B[/STRIKE][STRIKE]C [/STRIKE]D E [STRIKE]F[/STRIKE]G H I J K L M N O P Q R S [STRIKE]T[/STRIKE]U V [STRIKE]W [/STRIKE]X Y Z0

A few years ago I took my mum for some pampering treatments at the local college. They were really cheap (think I paid £12 for a full body massage!) and we had a lovely day together.
Or have a look at the hamper thread-there's some great ideas on there.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I bought my mum a really lovely photo frame from the works. it is silver and has wording around it relating to special things to do with your mum. Only cost me 99p and am giving it to her on mothers day. Boxed as well. I am on a really tight budget as well, but it looks a lot more expensive.0

I bought my mum a digi photo frame. Personally I went for the Sony 9" which is excellent quality and it is one of those areas where you pay for what you get.
Having said that there are frames out there now which are far cheaper and quality is perfectly acceptable.
If your budget is really tight then you can actually get key fob digi frames although they do not hold many pictures but are getting better all the time.
I have a scanner and I spent about a week in my spare time scanning a variety of pics from throughout her life. Plus I put a load on which I already had digitally saved on my PC. Altogether there are approaching 2000 pics on the frame!
Anyway, result = 1 x very happy mum who has not stopped staring at the frame since we gave it to her. It has turned out to be one of the most enjoyed gifts I have ever given anybody.0 -

A friend of my OH got his mum a 'flying experience' in a small plane, I thought she would be terrified as she was quite elderly, but apparently she really enjoyed herself! :eek:0
