I'm an non-techie so I'm here to get advice from you knowledgeable sorts

If I as to register some domain names, which sites should I use? I thought GoDaddy was a 'decent' one but I've heard some not so good feedback about them. Can anyone suggest any good sites please?

I've been happy over the years with 1&1.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

WATCH OUT.....123REG BEST have 1200 + domains no problem 5 years, also do not charge to transfer [ some up to £28 ] also give you lee-way when domain due to expire if you miss email notice , some comps. cut off domain within 1 hour of expiry so they can charge you to reinstate or if good word will reg for themselves..0

I have used Godaddy.com, uk2.net and 1and1.co.uk over the years and IMO I prefer 1and1 and are still using them. You need to watch out for the domain fowarding as some companies put banner on there to advertise themselfs and then you need to pay more to get it removed.
1and1.co.uk do not do the above so you get decent fowarding service with no adverts. They also have a really nice control panel to maintain it.
Cheers

Thanks for the extra posts and info
I had a look at 1&1 and I like them the best so far so I may end up going with them... then I'll have to figure out who does the best hosting!

We supply domain names and we use 123 reg and easyspace.0

1and1 is good for domains, but expensive for hosting. Look elsewhere for a hosting package if you want the best deal.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0
