Can I take a vet to small claims court?

Might be an idea to threaten the vet that you will get the local paper onto them and have an article written about their incompitance? Might scare them into giving you a refund.
I'm sorry about your cat, I'd be devestated, let alone having to deal with morons who are supposed to have your cats best interests at heart. Some people feel the rain...others just get wet0 -

For fairness I will state that I have reported members of my own profession to the professional body (the RCVS), when I have felt that animal welfare was being compromised (I have more stories than I could even begin to tell you). In this I had not the least concern that a member might lose their career over such an action, they took their actions consciously and therefore chose to accept the consequences of their action, as indeed has the vet in this case. This kind of negligence is not a trivial matter and a failure to engage fully with a complaint is almost tacit admission of the validity of the complaint.0 -

I'm sorry but anyone who can sit back & knowingly watch animals suffer due to others incompetence is scum, i'm glad Simon did what he did & I am 200% sure he had very good reason to. If I take my Pets to the Vet I expect my Vet to treat them as his/her own & professionally & to have the knowledge to carry out whatever procedure they are doing. If they're not sure i'd expect them to get help from someone who is, not to try anyway.
I suppose if anyone reports the guy on the other thread who bashed the Cat over the head they'd be a backstabber too? If you're a Vet IMO you should love animals & want to improve their health & if someone's doing something badly it needs dealing with. I only wish more Vets were like Simon.0 -

Better backstabber than someone who covers up incompetence, mistakes and suffering caused by others just because they are in the same profession.
Sorry to hear about Spaghetti mrbadexample, I've always enjoyed your threads on your cooking adventures.

You are mixing the facts an twisting here. Bashing a cat over the head is on purpose...... failure to diagnose a problem is a mistake0 -

idk, maybe he didOr maybe it was far too serious, but i'm sure he'll catch up with the post & let us know, he's pretty good like that!

Except we don't know the circumstances that Simon felt this was necessary except that it involved animal welfare - certainly a gross misconduct in my book.
With reference to mrbe - that is exactly what he has given the vet the opportunity to do and he still feel that he has a case so he has to take it further.
