Help against loss adjustor!

Hi All,
I recently had a problem with my bathroom, i was appointed an adjustor (cunningham and lindsey) whom told me to get a quote from a builder.
The builder submtted a quote and was told to drop it by £1200 which he did. The loss adjustors agreed to the new quote and work commenced. A few weeks later they sent a letter stating that the payment is in the post and the claim has been cosed. Since then no payment arrived, I caled them and they have said that the original quote was to high and that they refuse to pay, the builder has walked off the job and will not finish job. He has also seeked legal advice and has been told he may have to sue me! How can a company agrre a figure let the job start and then change the figure? Anybody have any ideas as to how I can get this resolved quickly?

If what you say is true - then this is simply a 'breakdown in communication'.
I work with C&L all day long and they are a professional outfit.
Rather than whinge on a website - pick up the phone..........Reassuringly expensive0 -

Speak to your ins broker. If you don't have one speak to the insurance company and advise them of the situation, then follow it up in writing and send a copy to the adjusters tooACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -
I'm sure this is a duplicate thread with much more detailed answers on it on the other.
P.S First bit of praise on here for C&L for a long time!0
