What you are doing right so far and what I like - is that you are listening, acknowledging and responding to advice. More than i can say for some on these forums. Hence i wish you well with this. You've got a lot more sense than her Dad!

bailiff action always remains a risk. It should be suspended when OOT SD filed as Herbie has confirmed. It is wise to make sure you firmly advise the Council and bailiffs of this though.

I originally thought it was going to have to be a case of slapping the old man and getting him to pay up.

BUT - if Herbie says you can still make OOT Stat Decs then I would try cos she knows her stuff. Google Northampton TEC for details how on their website.

@ Herbie - can she do that even though the RK address was deliberately elsewhere - and not since changed with DVLA?? - Just wondering.

Neil. Yes certainly can do an Out of Time. It is NOT for the TEC or the local authority to dictate whether it was right or wrong to register the car elsewhere. What is important is that a Notice to Owner was not received providing the opportunity to make a formal representation.

Approx 50,000 Out of Times were submitted last year and the vast majority were on the grounds of statutory notices going to a different address.
