Does anyone have Spasmodic Dysphonia?

I was wondering if anyone had spasmodic dysphonia? as I was diagnosed with this voice problem in 2007 and have recently been made redundant from my job due to this voice condition. I wondered if it was classed as a disability? Do I have to mention it when filling out job applications?
There is a great forum specifically for people with Spasmodic Dysphonia to talk about their condition at http://spasmodicdysphonia.topicboards.com I have found this useful to be able to talk to other people in the same boat

Not something I have ever heard of, but I thought I would respond to this part:
Are you disabled by it? Then it's a disability. Do you have to mention it? No, but it would be foolish not to mention it if it's relevant, eg if the job was likely to involve a lot of talking. Also some employers (under the 'Two Ticks' scheme) will guarantee an interview to any candidate with a disability whose application demonstrates that they meet the requirements of the job.I wondered if it was classed as a disability? Also you shouldn't have been made redundant because of any condition - your job may have become redundant, but the selection process used should have been fair.
It might be worth asking to talk to a Disability Adviser at the Job Centre to see if they can give you extra support with looking for a new job.Signature removed for peace of mind0
