Critical Illness Cover

Hey all, am after some advice on the Critical Illness Cover only (Not life insurance) basically Im not really sure where I should start. Im a 26 yo Male, who has a 25 year mortage left.

How long should I take out a policy for?
How much should I take out a policy for?

My mortage is just under 100000?
Also any rec. on companys?

    For the period that covers your financial need.
    How much should I take out a policy for?
    for the amounts that cover your financial need.
    Also any rec. on companys?

    budget, standard, comprehensive cover? guaranteed or reviewable premiums? guaranteed insurability needed? One segment or two segments needed?

    Also, check number of definitions covered compared to price.

    Something that costs £30 pm but covers you for 50 things is going to be better than something for £25 that covers you for 30

    thanks to every one who has posted here your comments have all been helpful, however i recieved a letter from the insurance company todaywho say that they have recieved by fax a medical report on me and that the resport confirms that i have suffered a cardio vascualar Accident(cva) stroke, however they are still unwill to process the claim as the report is from the hospital and is not signed by the consultant who is still off work sick
