9k to invest - totally baffled!

Hey people,

Ive got 9k to invest and im really confused on what would be the best thing to do with it!
I haven't used any ISA allowance this year, so was going to go with £3600 in one of the 3.5% mini cash isa's this week, and when it turns April, put another £3600 in the best deal. That would leave £1800 to put into a savings account, ideally i would like to be adding £100 a month to this. Is this a good plan or are there better options for me?

Thanks xx

ISA's first, then find the best savings account you can, its difficult as the rates are low at the moment, http://www.moneysupermarket.com/savings/

    Invest or save?

You say invest but you then discuss savings options. Which is it that you are after?
