Fertility Testing

Hi,
Sorry if this isn't quite the right place for this, but I have a question. I was reading an article in a magazine the other day about fertility tests that are now available to buy in Boots (about £80 ish apparently). Just wondering if anyone has used one/heard anything about them, and what people think?
Thanks,
Allie

Seems a lot to spend when you could learn more about if/when you are fertile from a book such as Taking Charge of you Fertility by Toni Weschler.0

Iv'e seen these kind of kits on TV. They were £180ish though. You get the kit but have to have a blood test at your local hospital. It tells you how fertile you are likely to be for X years. So if you want children but have a career it gives you a guide as to how long you have before you need to start trying.
Just looked on boots website and seen the kits you have. They measure the amount of healthy eggs you have remaining. Personally I wouldn't bother with any of them as theres no better way to test your fertility than to start trying. Hubby and I have been trying for 2 yrs with one loss. These kits/tests can't forsee any problems that you may have. I'm desperate for a baby now as I'm getting older but I wouldn't waste money on these kits. The kits might say your very fertile for X years but if you don't time it right or you make love too often then you won't conceive.
I assume you are thinking about or in the process of trying for a family. My advice is to try not to think about it (easier said than done) relax and it will happen when it happens.
Sorry to ramble......:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I've thought about them.
There's a 5 year gap between my two boys, we wanted a small gap between any other child and the youngest. After trying for two years I did get pregnant but it wasn't to be and now it's another two years on (youngest is 5 so no hope of a small gap in age). I've been reading up and am now using ovulation tests. It's hard to stop it all feeling a bit clinical.0 -
if you are having trouble conceiving go to your doctor, a simple blood test can tell you if you are ovulating, and if you are not you can be referred on for treatment0

Try a method that is used as a natural contraception method. It is called the cervical mucus method and if used in conjuction with the changes in cervix observations then you will certainly know when your fertile times are. It involves being familiar with your own body but get the information from the Web or a good library. It will even save you buying a pregnancy test because you will be able to tell when you are that too. Good luck!DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0
