Earlier this year I rang my local Town Hall for recommendations.  They put me in touch with British Gas who sub-contract.  Got it done for half price (automatic grant) and guaranteed for 25 years.  Also had cavity wall insulation done, again half price.  They made an excellent job.

Do make sure there is a good guarantee, as I know of people who've had loft insulation and it's caused excessive condensation due to the fact it's doing such a good job!  If this is the case, you need to get them back to create air vents in the roof.
