I have accounts on uk and us itunes, using different email addresses and passwords. Mine is a uk bought ipod. There is no problem with syncing because the ipod syncs with your itunes music in general (including any cds etc you have imported), not your purchases.

In my ITunes I have all my music, videos and apps - some bought from ITunes UK, some from ITunes US, some loaded on as cds etc. I joined ITunes UK first and then ITunes US last year.
When I plug my ipod in, ITunes recognises the ipod and syncs with whatever is on my ITunes, regardless of where it came from. All my purchases show in the 'Purchased' section, regardless of whether they are from UK or US. When I go to the ITunes store, I am automatically logged onto whatever account/store I left it last time I used it. If I want to switch stores, I just click on the countries at the bottom of the page and scroll to whichever country's ITunes store I want to browse ( in my case obviously either US or UK because these are the only 2 stores I am registered with). Then, if I choose to buy/download anything from the store, it prompts me to log in with the email and password for that store. Hope that's clear!
The only difference I can see is that you joined ITunes US first, and I joined ITunes UK, but I can't see how that would make a difference to the way your Ipod syncs. If you want to be on the mega-safe side, you could always check the 'manually manage music' box in ITunes and then just drag the extra tracks onto your IPod.
