Thanks for all those links. Looks like I've got a lot of homework to do now, including calling Scottish Widows for the valuation and checking out all those links! I'm also in the middle of finding out where all the kwh of leccy is going as getting through 32kwh a day - it's like a full time job.:money:0

Lidls are selling Energy Monitors at the moment for about £8, it will tell you how much electricity each item is using and what the cost is. They are very handy.0

P.S If you life Insurance is with Scottish Widows it might be worth having a shop round for that as in my experience they are not that cheap. Dunstonh may be able to confirm or deny this.
If you want to shop around for your life insurance just pop and see an Independante Financial Adviser0 -
Funnily enough I'm looking at Life Insurance too. It's a joint one with Friends Provident for £150,000 - paying £36 dd per month (till 2025). This would repay (at todays redeemed quote) £113,000 mortgage. Mortgage is repayment, part of which is £45,000 endowment (which prob will have shortfall of fair few thousand).:money:0

Put a note up about life Insurance and Dunstonh will see it and help you out as its his speciality.
Were any of those links helpful? They are mostly basic guides about home insurance from the governing bodies so are impartial.
Have a go with that online contents calculator from Direct Line I posted up to see how much contents you actually have as I would be very surprised if the £28500 cover you have is any where near enough. You should really make sure you get the right amount of contents cover before you worry about saving money as if you under Insure it could cost you thousands. Most Insurers give an automatic amount now days of upwards of £40000 as they know customers need this much0 -
Thanks Dacouch - Not had a chance to look at links yet but will let you know. How do I put a note up about life Insurance and Dunstonh?:money:0
