Please help my house look nice!

I have a quote for building an MDF cupboard for books and tv.Can anyone tell me if the following sounds fair...
Supply and install new double 13amp socket to the cupboard run off existing ring main box to be surface mounted: £189.00
Is it worth having the building company spray the MDF in white satin finish or is this a job I can roll up my own sleeves for with some primer etc? Will it make a significant difference to the cost of the joinery?

Hi, I have never sprayed MDF, but have painted loads of MDF wardrobes, bookcases, cabinets etc, and its quite painstaking.
I P&D for a living, and am quite fast, but its quite labourous, and braindead work lol

So if you can get it sprayed, then it might be better for you, but I cant see them finishing it in one spray job of satinwood.

They would have to give it a couple of coats at least, but like I say, I have never sprayed it, so someone else might know more on this.
