National exprss, trains not coaches, site HERE gives a good idea of what is available on a chosen date. Input your details, then click on the price range boxes. The 10:48 & 11:48 to London shows as £93 for all of you. Various prices back, from £48 early morning or after 8p.m.0

If you go on the virgin site you can get an adult single for £8 leaving 12.48 and a single for the way back for £8 leaving london at 10.15 or 11.15
Are these are good to you?

Have you tried the Farefinder on TheTrainline?
http://www.farefinder.thetrainline.com/Default.aspx
I can see tickets for £16 return for the dates you want, or try the Mobitix link on Virgin Rail's website.

This link is busy at the moment but has fares as low as £1 each way from Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston. Just hit the Special Offers link and it's the first option.0 -
brilliant responses thanks the farefinder site looks good but wont entertain my request of any times near it when i try to book, my ideal times are 11.48 out and 14.02 return the national express link looks good about £100 cheaper when i choose the 12.35 return train. Is the change at Crewe much of a problem or a simple hop off and change trains /platforms ? 6 adults (one pensioner all women) Am i doing it right for the virgin and farefinder sites ? do i need to have a promo thanks for you help:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

See my post on the other thread you asked on. The change at Crewe will probably be a different platform but it really isn't a problem, even for pensioners.0
