If you check the name of the camera on flickr camera finder then you can see the sort of photos that other people have achieved with them, which is quite handy since you can check out what the indoor/outdoor photos look like before you buy a camera -

I bought this one last week from play.

Canon PowerShot A1000 IS 10.0 Megapixel Digital Camera (Blue)

It only cost £104.49 with Rac discount. Not bad for a 10mp need to get a memory card which is about £4.99.

I was aware of it on Play.com but the one on play doesn't include a free 2 year warranty

Thanks for that, both cameras seem to take brillant photos, so I'm sure whichever one I end up buying will give good results after I've had a bit of a play with the settings. Thanks for all the other suggestions, the one from comet looks really good for the price. I'll check out some reviews on it

More megapixels dosent meant its a better camera, more pixels on a small sensor can in fact make it a worse camera

I have a cannon 860 paid about $280 last year which was a good price then ,but I am not happy with night shots friends who are experts say digital flash cameras are not very good in that dept .I am going to try different settings on it for nightb shots ,wouldnt mind but it came with very good reviews.

Avoid using camerabox - I ordered a camera from them which they did not have in stock and despite several requests they did not refund the money I paid.
