I too would advise against soya sweetened with apple juice, my son was lactose intolerant and used to drink this stuff like water, until he had to go in and have 4 of his baby teeth removed under g/a when he was 4 yrs old. Oh how guilty i felt. Health food shops will become your best friends in the near future, as there are lots of alternatives to milk these days. Everything from yogurts, cheese, icecream. I tried to make him maccaroni cheese with the cheese tho, wasn't a gr8 success :rotfl:When your baby is old enough for real food, remember to read ingredients on the labels carefully, looking for your normal milk, and your hidden milk, such as whey, lactose, caseinates. Your health visitor should be able to advise on this though. My son also informs me that the Apro soya milk (the fresh stuff from the chiller) tastes just like normal milk, and the long life stuff is revolting, hope this helps.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

My 22 month old twins are allergic to cow's milk protein, it gives them hives and eczema. i breast fed them until they were diagnosed during a milk challenge at the local hospital at 13 months. I really didn't realise how many foods contained milk in some form or another.
We use a lot of soya in their diet, they are still on wysoy and have the alpro soya yoghurts and desserts, cream and custard. They will be on wysoy until two then they can go onto normal soya milk. We did try them on neocate but they wouldn't touch it.0 -

Don't blame them - it really is awful! They obviously have more taste than DGS! He still tucks in to it morning and evening at the age of 15months. On advice from the nutritionalist he is still on a fair bit to boost his calcium.
It's quite suprising how many children have a problem. It makes you wonder how us oldies ever grew up. :rolleyes:Always look on the bright side of life ....la la la la la la la la0
