Retro 70s perfume atomiser

Ok so ive just typed a full detailed thread out and it didn't post
so ill quickly explain again!
I recently bought a retro 1970s chanel perfume atomiser off ebay, it was shown with three photos, one in the casing with the lid on, one in the casing without the lid on and a third photo out of the casing but still with the spray lid on.
I checked the listing and it was stated that the item was refillable in one of the questions asked on the item. So i bid on it and won it, I received it quite promptly but realised when i took it apart that it wasn't a screw top it was a sealed unit.
So i sent the seller an email asking if it is really refillable?
She replied: To be honest I have no idea, cant say ive looked to closely as its not really my type of thing (I prefer to go daft squirting the bottle all around)
I would imagine it unscrews but I cant say for sure. Best wishes
So i replied: it doesn't unscrew
i've taken it into work and they say i need to replace the glass part but the new refill bottles aren't the same shape and i actually got it to fill with coco chanel instead.
The only option left is to try and syringe perfume into it, but im not sure this will work. I will have a go over the weekend though. Otherwise it's not really refillable
I have tried to find an answer this weekend to no avail and therefore am going to have to ask for a refund. I've never needed to request a return on ebay, so could anyone please advise the most amicable way to proceed, for instance am i best to keep all my correspondence within the ebay system to make sure they are aware. i just want my money back so i can purchase an atomiser that is fit for purpose. I'm not worried about postal charges as i guess this is unfortunate, but how could she not have taken the lid off and checked that it was refillable?!
Any advice gratefully received

I agree, keep it brief and simple, explain the problem then wait for a response.
Good luck! let us know how it goes0 -
Thanks!
I've sent the following, so cross fingers!
I'm really sorry but I haven't managed to find anyway to refill the atomiser and so I hate to ask but would you allow me a refund if I send the product back? I don't mind paying the postage charges for the return as I realise this is an unfortunate situation as I understood from the post that it would be refillable and assumed that it was a screw top underneath the spray.
If you could let me know asap it would be much appreciated.
Thanks Shell xMortgage free wannabe!:

Ok so i sent the message and still no response. So i put in a dispute, and she has sent me a snotty email saying:
Hi,
I have just been informed by ebay of a "not as described" dispute. I have had no emails or messages from you and do not know what this "dispute" relates to.
I am more than happy to rectify any problem however it would be nice to know about it before I get a snotogramme from ebay.
Please advice on
a, What the problem is
b, Auction/buy it now ref number
c, Your ideas on resulting the problem
In the meantime I would be grateful if you would lift your dispute as my paypal account is now frozen and I am unable to proceed with purchases I have in hand.
Many Thanks
Regards
I did send her a message 4 days ago through ebay, to which i have had no response. I feel terrible about her paypal account being frozen but it says if you remove the dispute you won't be able to lodge another one, so i'm loathe to do that.
I've sent her the following:
I'm sorry but I messaged you four days ago through ebay and had not had a response and did not see any other way to resolve the issue. I will lift the dispute as long as we resolve the issue within the next 7 days.
A. The problem is that the item is not refillable, you answered a question on the item which stated it was refillable and both the size/shape of the refills has changed and as the perfume canister is a sealed unit there is no way to fill it.
B. Item number: ........
C. As the item is not refillable I would like to return the item for a refund. I'm happy to pay the return postal costs.
Sorry for the hassle of this, I would have much preferred not to have taken this approach, but you did not reply to my message. I will lift the dispute now on the premis that you accept my return/refund request.
Please advise asap.
Regards
I then realised that I couldn't re-lodge a dispute so sent:
Unfortunately after checking the paypal terms I would be unable to reopen a dispute if you don't agree to a refund, I don't feel that at this stage we have reached a satisfactory conclusion. Please advise as soon as possible and as soon as we agree a way forward I will remove the dispute.
I feel so horrible, have I done the right thing? I don't see what other options I had?Mortgage free wannabe!:

Don't worry - you've done everything the way you should. Your email may have gone into spam, but you weren't to know that.
Stop apologising and letting her get snootyyou've done nothing wrong

If it does end up as a Paypal dispute. You need to send the item back recorded to get the refund. Hopefully she'll refund you.0

don't close the dispute until you have had a refund!
a dispute does not freeze her account it just freezes the funds of the total cost of the item you purchased. she can still buy and sell as usual.0
