I have been told I have begun a period of individual consultation. I know from a friend inside that I will be made redundant and that I will leave as quickly as legally possible.
Reasons are branch closure due to current economic climate and the need to reduce costs. Thats fine.
Been there over 6 years and have no written contract. Will I still get a notice period? Holiday pay? and owed a small amount of overtime.
Glad to be going, never worked with such a **** who loved abusing the psoition of power he didn't hold.

Consultation should be exactly that, It seems to be a foregone conclusion and already decided. I would have thought that was a bit naughty to start with.
No, you do not have to have a written contract.
You should be due 6 weeks redundancy pay (1 week for each year if you are under 41) 1and a half weeks if you are over 41.
You are entitled to 6 weeks notice or 6 weeks pay in lieu of notice, again 1 week for every year you have worked there. (They will probably argue that it is only a month but look at the rules on the ACAS site before going to your next meeting.
You should be paid your overtime and any holidays accrued.
Sorry you are losing your job and hope you find something soon.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
