Diva Car Insurance

Have finally go off my backside and opened my car insurance renewal documents from Swintons my brokers. Rather than apathetically allowing my insurance to renew automatically I have been on some comparison websites looking for a better deal.
I assume that different prices for the same insurer on different websites occur because of commission payed to the website, is this right?
Also, the cheapest quote on the two sites I used was Swiftcover, which seem to be great - until you need to claim, whereupon the reviewers said they were a nightmare. So I am going to give them a miss.
One of the lowest quotes I received was from Diva - about £120 less than my brokers have sourced me - what I want to know is:
1. What are their customer services like?
2. What are they like in the event of a claim?
There were no reviews on the sites I went on.

Diva are a broker so it would depend which Insurer they have quoted you with, do you know which company its with? Do you know how much the Total Excess is you pay in the event of an accident?0

Hi horseykitty
The premium may be good, but have a look at the terms and conditions of the sale:
http://www.divainsurance.co.uk/TermsAndConditions/
The charges they make for any alterations to your policy are quite large. I also note their £50 for cancelling the policy even in the "cooling off" period.
When they send you your documents the next year, they will chage you £20 just to renew with them and if you are paying by instalments, the charges are quite nasty.
So provided you are paying your premium in one go by debit card (not credit card as that gets a 2% charge) and do not intend to change jobs, move house, get a speeding fine or have a claim, go for it!!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Forget the 'Diva' brand, it is actually Swinton. There are plenty of reviews around (here and elsewhere) for Swinton so you would be better off making your judgement having done your own research as some people love them, some people hate them (as with most companies really). All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0

Well spotted Oscar, I did not realise they are part of Swintons....that means there is a good chance they have quoted MMA...
Rather you than me0 -
Thanks for all your replies. I guess I'll have to do a bit more research - wish I hadn't left it so late!
dacouch - what does 'quoted MMA' mean? Sorry if I'm being a bit thick and it's obvious.0
