I have a marble hearth on my fireplace and have cup/glass mark where somone has sat glasses on it. I can only assum that coke was spilt and then the glass sat on top causing the mark. I cannot get it off
I have tried all the normal household cleaners and nothing works, anyone any ideas that will not cost a fortune???
thanks

Have you tried a specialist marble cleaner?
If you google there are lots to choose from, cheapy is Astonish Marble & Granite cleaner to more specialist products.
Be careful with cleaners that aren't specifically for marble as it can spoil the finish and the marble could lose it's shine.0 -
My parents bought a marble fireplace years ago and were severely warned about placing things on the fire place as marble is porous it just soaks up liquid and stains the marble. If an accident did occur they were advised to place a cloth that had been soaked in hot water and then rung out over the stain in the hope it would drag out the stain. Not sure what effect using cleaners will have on this though. I will do a search and see if i can find any other way of cleaning marble.

Have a look at these pages and see if they help. Let me know how you get on as it would be good for my parents.
When we were kids we were not even allowed to breathe near the fireplace!
Good Luck
