Ha. I gave up with Barclays (no offence!) and ignored everything they said. They said I can't transfer money across via BACS and stuff. I just sent the money across, never came back and I never went over my limit. Nevermind.
None taken, but I'd honestly rather you fed it back to us than to Money Saving Expert - service shouldn't be like that, and it reflects poorly on those who do get it right. What would William Shatner do?0 -
Two options ...
1) Bonus - they probably get a bigger bonus for a current account than savings
Unless they can sell the customer on one of the paid for accounts AND get them to credit to it AND get them to keep it for three months, the most they're going to get is about £3.
That's a very unlikely cross sale from an ISA rate tart. What would William Shatner do?0 -

Ok, it must come down to option (2) then.0 -
BarclaysManager - I just think that the branch staff should say to the customer (in this case to Loloko) that in order to get internet banking, the customer could either apply for a current account or a e-saver reward (with his ISA). The branch staff should mention e-saver reward as well. Wondering why the branch staff didn't say the latter product.
eSavings and eSavings Reward are online only and the branch cannot open them. Opening a current account just for online banking is a breach of sales standards. What would William Shatner do?0
