Re-decoration Help!!

Hi everyone. I'm new to this so please bear with me. I own a 2 bed bungalow, detatched, with a conservatory. The missus and i have struggle to settle here as we were limited on time and budget for decor etc when we bought the place. We were considering selling but the market is awful at the moment and we would never recoup what we paid. As a result, we have decided to revamp the place and make it a bit more "homely". The plan is to fit a bath with over shower and aqua panels. We are looking to replace carpets, re-paint the place and replace the sofas. If anyone knows of any bargains or sales that are ongoing, please let me know. Tradesmen arent an issue as i can do the painting and plumbing work myself. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome!
We have been looking at bathrooms recently and most places are doing offers or willing to do deals. Even if nothing is advertised then ask to see what they will do. most furniture places near us have extended and added to their sales so you just need to get out and look. B&Q and homebase quite often have deals on branded paint so you just need to keep an eye out, also worth watching here as people tend to post when they find a good deal.0 -
i ordereda chrome towel rail from B&Q as it was the cheapest even including delivery

Thanks so much for the help folks. Planning a trip to IKEA soon (closest one is 100 miles away). I checked B&Q website, really good prices on baths and showers. 4bathrooms really good too. Just a pity those aqua panels are so damned expensive.0

also local gumtree might have some bargains on it if you don't mind second hand stuff - and ask relatives/friends if they have anything they don't want anymore

I'm doing my bathroom at the moment.
I had 25-30% off my bathroom suite and shower from City Plumbing (part of Travis Perkins). I had 15% off my tiles from local tile company that was much cheaper for the tiles in the first place.
I had a couple of quotes for all the work and it varied by thousands!
I used a 15% off voucher in the Wickes catalogue (CAT09) for my radiator and lighting and ordered on line via quidco and had it delivered free.
Paint - I only ever use Dulux as it's very hard wearing and looks good for years, which is just as well as we hate painting!
I bought my new leather sofas 1/2 price in Leekes and they were a geniune 50% reduction unlike DFS. Plus I had 12 months interest free credit.
Carpets come from a local independent carpet company as you get better quality for less money than the big suppliers.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Can't thank you enough for the help. 4bathrooms sounds like a candidate for Watchdog. Aqua panels are a must. Seems they are dead easy to fit and, lets face it, cleaning tile grout is a pain in the neck0
