    That's right it has nothing to do with using it as your main account. Nationwide are one of those organisations that do not like risk. So if you're credit score is too low they will not give you full facilities as you are more likely to default. Other banks may offer you full facilities but look at the mess they're in.

    Do banks generally run a credit check if you are applying for an internet savings account or regular saver? I want to apply but am reluctant because of the 2 searches at Experian last monh - NW and Cahoot.

    They do a ID/address check only. Savings account are not 'credit', so no credit check is done.

    That's probably all they checked for the flex account then as I opted for no OD.
