Where do I stand? Quiet enjoyment all that jazz?

Ok not really quiet enjoyment related but im getting severely peed at my incompetent letting agent.. they are very pushy and seem to try and 'con' me into believe certain things that they can do..

We are moving out, and so are in the viewing/sign off stage (moving out in 2 weeks time)

For example, they state simply 'they will use the pass key' if we can't make an appointment, they don't mention we can say we want to be there.

We had one viewing, and while the letting agent knew we were going to be in... the lady just tried opening our front door without even knocking!! . I opened door a bit !!!!ed off staying 'YEP we are in!'.

So again I get a call today...

" I want a viewing at 4pm tomorrow, exactly..... no sorry I can't jiggle the times around... can we enter without you?'

Me : "No im not comfortable with strangers in my home without me there and I cant get there for 4pm as im in a meeting at work, im home at 5pm"

Lady "Your restricting us because you are saying 'out of work hours'... but I can jiggle something around and get 5pm"

Question is..

I am right to do this right? I mean, Im not being stubborn im not saying 'no you cant come in for x days'... im just suggesting they come in after I finish work (which I might add 5pm is still early than most peeps finish work).

Mainly reason why we leaving cause of their incompetence... We having at the moment the following:

Sat 28th Feb - Viewing at 12pm (Gave 23 hours notice)
Tuesday 3rd March - Viewing at 5pm (tried to get 4pm but thats unreasonable for me)
Sat 5th March - Landlord is coming around for a 'visit'... which i believe is just an excuse to do 2 'checkouts'
Tuesday 17th March - Letting agent is doing a checkout for 'final checkout'.

Could you not just write them a letter saying:

"As per a legal rental contract, we are entitled to quiet enjoyment of the property, and access for the landlord or letting agency is due to an emergency only.

As showing tenants round does not classify as an emergency, in theory we are not required to give access to the property.

However, as we understand your requirement to re-let the property, we shall kindly allow 2 viewings per week, either 5pm to 7pm on a Tuesday, or 9am to 10am on a Saturday. These viewings MUST be booked in advance, with a minimum of 24 hours notice given, and you must NOT let yourselves in - please use the bell on the front door and wait until the door is answered.

    Kind Regards,

    xxxx"

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Agreed that giving them set times they can arrange viewings is a good idea.
