At my wits end with Ferolli Combi

Go into your tool shed/cupboard, find the largest hammer you can.
Return to your boiler and smack it really hard about a thousand times!
Ensure that it looks like a tin can on a motorway before retiring to your TV for a rest then if you can afford it get a new boiler!
Sorry to be flippant, these boilers are the worst (in my opinion) on the market bar none! I wouldn't fit one if my life depended on it. Repair it and you'll be throwing good money after bad.0 -
it always amazes me, people buy a cheap boiler then wonder why it keeps going wrong, so after 5 years numerious cold houses, no hot water & a very big repair bill it has ended up being not a very cheap boiler at all, i've got to disagree with unclebulgaria there are two worst boilers ideal (especially the older isar & icos) & the one at the bottom of the pile is Halstead (or glen dimplex as they are now).I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I appear to be having a similar problem. lThe boiler cuts out when the outside temperature turns very cold. No amount of pressing Reset kicks it back to life. The error codes go from F1 to P1/P2/P3 [nobody seems to know what these P codes mean - they are not in the manual] and my plumber is getting weary keep coming to sort it out. The boiler is just out of warranty. Does anyone know what the P codes mean? More importantly, does anyone know if there is an Ombudsman we can complain to?
Frozen condensate pipe is the first thing to check-surely he has done this? A 'plumber' is not qualified to work on a gas boiler-do you mean your RGI?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Theres a bit about a car pump but where do you attach it?
Our engineer is never available by phone and does not reply to messages and we are left frozen with cold water.
Help
To the valve on the expansion vessel.
Or if you mean the water pressure, then use the filling loop valve.
Sounds like time to find another RGI...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Damn how could I have forgotten about Halstead? ok Equal last with Ferroli...oh and that other bain of my life Ravenheat! Thanks kg.0 -
Poor quality boiler (Ferroli Optimax HE plus 25 S), unreliable. I just inherited one due to a house move and am surprised at how unreliable it is, but occasionally these things happen. I am, however, staggered at the astonishingly poor level of customer service offered by Ferroli. The queues on high cost, national line telephone numbers are simply not consistent with any definition of customer care, the phone cut offs after 25 minutes, ignoring my emails and never calling back. Another cold weekend for me and the kids...
Can anyone recommend reliable boiler with high quality service back up?
Thanks
