which means that Abbey are likely to drop the rate down to Issue 2 level when people arent looking.

I'm so fed up with these banks closing and creating new issues. It is about time companies started treating existing customers fairly.
How much does all the admin/paperwork/branch literature cost.
So if I close my issue 2 and transfer it to an issue 3 will I have benefited from the full rate up till then? ( I assume so) i.e. terms state if balance falls below £1,000 the rate drops.
Also just noticed issue 1 has been left at 3.00%0 -

Yes.At least Abbey appear to be allowing existing customers to open Issue 3, when I opened Issue 2 in December it wasnt available to anyone that had held Issue 1 during the previous 12 Months.

I phoned to open the issue 3 today and was told I can't as I have issue2 (opened Oct).
Disappointed at this as although I prefer internet access I liked this account as I could do instant transfer.0 -

When I opened Issue 2 in December 2008, it stated on Abbey Website that those who had opened a previous Issue within "blah blah blah" couldnt open Issue 2. Issue 3 has no such apparent restrictions, so I opened Issue 3 online at the time I posted the thread despite having got Issue 2 still open.0 -
Thanks - just done that. Can't believe they ask you occupation and net income details.
I put a £1 as income as it was none of their business!0 -

Abbey havent made that as apparent on Issue 3 as they did on Issue 2.When the application was checked by a human it would have been noticed that I already held Issue 2 id imagine.
