What 2 do - apparently abled-bodied parking in disabled bay

Wondered what people do when seeing someone APPARENTLY not disabled parking in a disabled bay... particularly if there is no "Blue Badge".

I occasionally engaged the individual in conversation enquiring if the speak english (hey, they could be aliens visiting and don't understand our road signs..) and did they know the bay was a disabled one.

Some clearly have made a mistake, say thanks, sorry and hop back in & drive off (gent in new Ferrrari in Ascot High Street did that..)

Others get cross and explain they are/their mate is disabled and the badge is in the car (sorry sir, just asking)

Some get cross and shout and scream explaining (somewhere in the rant) that they ain't disabled but are "only stopping for a couple of minutes":

The wife tells me I'll get thumped/stabbed eventually (probably, and me a coward too..)

Any other thoughts?? Polis/Parking wardens seem uninterested in my experience.

I have better things to do with my time than police parking bays and I would have thought disabled persons who require a blue badge would also struggle to stand around policing bays and lean over cars to affix stickers.

Many people have hidden disabilities and do not have to explain themselves to anyone.

Yep, Your behaviour is pious and idiotic. Who do you think you are?

You can follow the procedures available by contacting the local Enforcement Authority and asking them to respond.

I think you are putting yourself at risk. Not just in the ways you described but through that 'notice'.
Plastering those over peoples' cars may well leave you open to some legal and/or criminal matter. Accusing someone, in bold lettering, of a criminal offence when no such 'offence' exists in 90% of the Country is risky.

To cap it all, one of your organisations has the same name as a scamming ppc!!!

My sister used to feel a fraud for parking in a disabled bay. She was young and not obviously disabled but was and entitled as a blue badge holder. She used to hate the looks she got.
When finally her health deteriorated and she had to use a wheelchair the looks stopped

I absolutely hate people who aren't disabled using disabled spaces, the same goes for people with no kids or strapping teenagers who park in parent and toddler spaces. My local ASDA has notices up re people being fined for misusing these spaces but I've never seen anyone checking or heard of anyone getting fined for doing so.
The ignorant people who do this have no shame.

How could you tell by looking if someone had, for example, one lung missing? Just because someone doesn't look disabled, doesn't mean they aren't.

As posted above, ASDA have no power to fine anybody, so their signs are meaningless tosh.

The biggest ignoramuses are those who come on a money saving site and moralise, without knowing the facts.

That's a fact and no mistake, BUT what about the other side of any argument?

What about all the supposed 'good legally accurate' advice given that is based on reading ONLY one side of any argument?

I do accept that there is a disclaimer stating that advice is freely given and acted on at readers risk.

Every day I read many letters of appeal of one kind or another and when you have access to both sets of 'evidence' you very often see quite a different story.

On the subject of the original post however, I'd say that it is fairly irresponsible to affix unauthorised signs to anyone's vehicle and I suggest that as genuine money saving advice.

Keep it up and it might cost you a hefty penalty yourself one way or another in future.
