Can you haggle to get a bonus rate?

Hi,
Wondered if any of you have done this?
I've an egg savings account, which I've had for years and years.
I jumped ship to Kaupthing, but put my saving back in egg just before they folded and became part of ING.
Now their rate is poor, but they are offering a massive bonus to new customers.
Has anyone managed to haggle their way into getting this bonus on existing accounts?

EGG wouldn't do it for my wife who has had Internet deposit account with them for years,so I applied for new account and we will transfer all of her deposits via our joint bank account to my new account - 5 minutes work & worth it to get an extra £300 this year; we'll lose a few ££s whilst the money is "in transit".
When will these banks show some common sense?0
