Ways to get an increased credit limit?

Wondering whether to try and increase my credit limit on my Natwest Gold card and getting some more cash out of them before getting a new card from a different company.

I'm at £3200 at the moment and when they sent the card it stated to call to be considered for an higher limit.

I anticipate that they are going to ask questions though as I've spent up to the limit in 2 months and only paid 2 minimum payments!

Any advice?

Credit card with 16.9% APR is not the best way of borrowing money ...
P.S. Or you have 0% for 9 months? In this case you have nothing to lose - just call them ...
  • I'm on 0% of course! Got another 6 months of the 0% left and would like to keep earning the airmiles and get some more out of them before applying for a new card...

Just wondering what to say if they ask me things like "we would like to see that you are able to pay some of the debt off before increasing your limit" - I can't exactly tell them I'm banking it in a savings account can I?

I recently increased my credit limit, very painless. However, I had cleared balance. Just ask them if they can do it. If no credit check is required you loose nothing, better to try milking your own bank and then apply for other card if needed.
  • They increased it by £500 to £3750 and said to go back after 3 months and I may be able to get more...
