Managing debt from abroad

Options
Hi,
I am a UK citizen lived in England all my life and now have gone to South Africa to work for a couple of years.
I have a 1500 pounds debt from flights and embassy work permit fees etc and I also need to spend a bit before I start getting paid, things like a car and to rent a flat.

Any advice on how to do this?

My plan was to try a Super balance transfer to pay of debt and get some extra cash for living for the next few months till payday, but can I get a UK credit card while technically abroad, I have a home address in UK which I could use......

Any help would be appreciated

Mark

as long as your applications are to the uk address it shouldn't be a problem as long as your credit history is okay and your on the ellectoral register.
Have a look at the Nationwide credit card as this allows you to use it abroad with little or no fees unlike other credit cards.
go to the Providers A-Z list on the left and see if it what you need.
Nationwide don't do SBT's for that you'll need MNBA,MINT or A&L card as they provide credit card cheques that allow you to transfer the money to your own bank account.
