Just wondering if Carlsberg did banking would it be like First Direct?
Have been with them for 6 months now and have to honestly say they provide an excellent service.
I have been with all other major banks in the past like hsbc, lloyds, halifax and barclays none of these even come close to First Direct.

So there is no such criteria to have an account with them? I would like to join them but i don't earn 25K a year. I'll be more than happy to pay £10 quid a month if they are superb.0 -

No criteria beyond regular credit scoring and the like.
The £10 charge is waived if you hold a mortgage, credit £1500pm, or maintain an average monthly balance of £1500 - assuming you're a new customer.
I would imagine you could just bounce money between the banks using FPS to get around the £1500 credit bit. What would William Shatner do?0 -

Yep, I applied online ten days ago, within a week my account was set up, I'm registered for telephone and online banking and my card is already out in the post to me.
Superb service so far. :beer:0 -
Been with FD over 13 years, and I have never had any reason to complain at all."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Can customers who are part time employed or unemployed apply for the current account with FD? I am at risk of losing my job due to the recession. Will FD accept customers who are unemployed even if they have a decent credit history? I am considering transferring my bank account to FD.0
