Just got letter telling me I didn't get the job, and it has knocked me for 6. Interview went well, and I really wanted the job. After 15 years in Law, it seems I am over-qualified for some positions, or (where "competancy based" questions are used) have limited experience! Limited experience? Overqualified?

I will be re-training as a teacher *waits for all those at the chalk face to shout "run away now"* but need to earn a crust in the meantime!

Going to be difficult flying today, but am off to look at Fridays list now....

Sorry to hear that. I've been told by the job center the I'm over qualified to go through some of their training schemes....its stupid! You keep getting told you need the qualifications to get jobs and when you have qualified you get told you're over qualified.:rolleyes:

I've decided to edit my list in post 1328 instead of reposting it each time. OH is working on the landing at the moment, as I told him that it was on my list, and that maybe he could do the cardboard box that was on the landing for the one that was on his list.

Have put my Shania Twain CD on (UP!) and it's really lifted my spirits as I'm singing along with the tunes whilst I clean up - slows me down a bit, but at least I'm having fun whilst I'm doing it all! lol

    Hello all
lots of washing done, dried and most of it ironed (shurrup!) maiden full so letting that air. Town this morning and got nattering (Flypeeps countrywide shout 'no really Valli - you nattering?':rotfl:) to a couple from Glossop in the coffee shop (as was all alone in there this am)
Been for a 'history' walk round Brampton in Chesterfield...very interesting - as due to AF I didn't want to be too far from a loo so an 8 mile ramble was not on the cards...
Quillion - no clue - you can pm me if you want;)
I've got a really terrible hangover and am this colour...
well you DID sound like you were having fun;)
There is no evidence of any educational value from most homework tasks, we set h/w because parents like it, largely.

    WD40?

Flower - D HAVE had their firm letter already. It was their 'it's not our fault' reply which set me off. I will write to the ombudsman but the procedure is you have to complain, formally, to the institution with whom you have a problem first...you must attempt to resolve it with them and only then can you go to the ombudsman. I am sure the O. will be most interested in their letter to me, which I will, of course, copy and send. I am a dab hand at formal complaints:cool:

I had to get DS1 to show me (yet again) how to do the picture...why can't I retain this information??

My girly trip with DD was cut short as she didn't feel well - I don't in the slightest mind, but she was really upset that we had to come home early. Tucked up in bed and fast asleep at the moment.

I've just sent the email booking the house in Marseille for April! I had to ring the owner as he didn't reply to my email asking for some extra information. I hope he replies to the one I've just sent to make the reservation. OH has agreed to sort out the taxi to the airport, which will save me some trouble. Fingers crossed for lots of extra work in the next four weeks!

Flying-wise, nagged the boys to do something in their room, and umpteen loads of washing - last one in at the moment.

Matt Damon ;) Who was it played Dickie Greenleaf in the film, though

    Penny. x

Thanks Penny - Dickie was Jude Law...

I'll have to read the book now. The radio play covers more than the film - is it truer to the book?
