A teacher was doing a study testing the senses (taste) of first graders using a bowl of lifesavers.

    The children began to identify
    the flavors by their color:
    Red.......................Cherry
    Yellow..................Lemon
    Green...................Lime
    Orange................Orange

Finally the teacher gave them all HONEY lifesavers. After eating them,
none of the children could identify the taste.

'Well,' she said, 'I will give you all a clue. It's what your mother may sometimes call your father.'

One little girl looked up in horror, spit her lifesaver out and yelled, 'Oh my God!! They're !!!-holes

Hugs to GnB, LL, FFPrincess and your families, and to Froddy and the girl in your class

Soappie, I love your imagination! That was so funny and so plausible about the Star Wars thing!
Thanks Quillion for the funny story!

I've done some washing up and been very brave and emptied the bins to the wheelie bin and walked to the post box to post letters. It was lovely and sunny out there and the birds are singing.
DH has tidied and cleaned the table after three weeks of me asking him, it looks lovely and empty! I wonder how long it will be before he puts the cleaning spray away...he's watching football now so I'm going to have lunch and a nap.
The place takes much less time to get tidy! Still need to declutter the arm chairs and sofa, s and s the bathroom sink and do masses of washing up, but it's looking good. And achievable!

    good afternoon!
oh has taken the kids with him (buying bits for my pc!!) - so i could get on with a few things!

i've cleaned the frontdoor outside and the huge lr window outside :j - and i've also spent an hour in the backgarden - the grass is still too wet to mow but i've cut all the edges straight so that should be less work when i finally get to cut the lawn! - also deleaved the patio and a general tidy!

i've also prepared lunch for the kids for when they are back -and oh's and mine is ready to be cooked (scrambled egg with veggies and sausage)

so i've got some time on the laptop now :D

    morning :hello:

dang, but pc is broken again  - oh says it needs a new harddrive  but luckily there is not much lost since i've only formatted this one 2 weeks ago

just skimmed the thread and as usual i can't remember alot :o

Dusty i never look at the instructions when i heat something up - just trial and error :D - i just put it in for eg. 2 minutes and if it's too cold a bit more - and next time i'll know better! - so i don't think it really matters which model you'll get - but do try freecycle!

after a weeks rest with no viewings we'll have 2 more on sunday - so back to cleaning and tidying and staging

Hi mOZzy - good luck with the viewings tomorrow (and with the computer  ), at least people are interested eh!

Dusty, just a quick one on the microwave front - heating wise any is fine, as ready meals have times per wattage printed on them - you can always tell if it's hot enough or not anyway by hovering your hand over the top - it's a sort of weird science that you have to try to understand IYSWIM.

But I would definitly get a digital rather than a dial one - I have known the dials get stuck near to the end and not switch off, cooking whatever is inside until it burns/catches light/etc... not safe at all (might just be me on this, but I've witnessed it happening - was scary!). They are also hard to guage, especially if you only want to reheat for a short while - digital is easy, put in the time you want and it bings when it's finished - 10 seconds and upwards usually. HTH.

:p Morning all or should I say Good lunchtime ? lol Been a little busy after a lazy start to the day. Still aching and headachey with no 2 son complaiing of the same. He's gone back to bed but I think it may have something to do with the fact both boys got up at 6 to play on the wii.

So far I have done all the washing up. wiped the hob down again, cleaned the bin and fixed a new hose to the dyson as the part came today from ebay. I also found 2 empty spray bottles so I have made one up with a little stardrops and water and the 250 ml one with 50 ml white vinegar, 50 ml stardrops and the rest water. Should help with the cleaning next week. :D

I'm going to do some labels on the my labelling toy I got free with a printer many moons ago and never got round to use and sort out my cooking jars. Then I may make a start on the dining room

Hugs to all that need them and good luck at Crufts Pigpen

    Hi all.

wEll going out to lunch with a friend soon but thought I would pop[ in a say hi.

Trying to work out finance and looking at it I will have £200 less money if I work 20 hours than if I stay at home. I thought that they wanted us to work .

Changed my interview to tomorrow so will wait and see. Need to tell DH he has got to come round to look as the kiddies. They have been manic today.

Looked at the links for the teaching last night but realised that you needed A-level to do training on the job :(

Am applying for JSA on Tuesday and if I can't get a job may see about doing something at college as I would like to do something to do with education. Have already done half of a Diploma in Childcare.
