AnW'sMum - can't help you with the gerberas I'm afraid I'm a bit like you - can manage to kill the hardiest of plants - that's why I employ a gardener!:rotfl:
Dusty - re the ready meals for your Nan. When my Dad was alive, I used to have a monthly 'cook in' at his. He'd tell me what meals he fancied, I'd buy the ingredients, cook 'em up and then pop them in his freezer. He could get one out in the morning, let it defrost then heat it up in the evening. Worked out much cheaper and healthier than shop bought meals.
One load of washing is outside on the line. My bedding is currently in the WM ready to go out as soon as it's finished. Proposal almost complete. Just need to do a background paper now...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning all,
Just caught up with the thread. Lots of messages to post and sorry if I accidentally miss you out:
Pigpen - congratulations on getting your uni place, and condolences to DS1's GF on the loss of her Dad.
Soappie - glad that the cat was rescued. Any news on your little doogie yet?
SarahShattered - congratulations on getting the job.
ZCC72 - sorry you didn't get your job, but I'm sure a job that is perfect for you will come up soon.
Serena - glad it all went well at the dentist - sorry I wasn't there to hold your hand in time.
Lil_me, GnB, Kaz, Rosepink, Leila and anyone else who needs one - have a hug!
Greenbee - congratulations on getting a pay rise and sorry you didn't get the other job.
Quillion - well done for all of your flying and for impressing your friend.
Jo - glad to hear that you and OH have decided to give it another try.
Triker and everyone else who's lost weight this week - well done!
Dusty - I hope your Nan feels more settled soon.
Toots - glad you had a lovely time out with your friend.
Sammi - congratulations to your DD.
Phil - well done on all of your hard work this week, and hope wife starts to appreciate you soon.
LadyLiberty - you know where I am if you need someone to talk to or take your mind off things. Big hugs for you.
All new and older flyers - well done for all of your hard work this week.
Haven't done much flying since Tuesday, but intend to catch up over the weekend. I've written OH his new list (he still has to clear out his car on last week's list too). Anyone interested:
Moon's List (wk 3)
1. Re-string washing line.
2. Empty both hoovers.
3. Choose one cardboard box in the house to clear completely (ie. rehome, chuck, etc)
4. Clear at least 2 of your intrays (this means sort properly, not just move stuff to a different one).
Reward: I will attempt to make a cake of your choice.
Off to copy the lists from the end of the week into a word doc, get dressed, eat breakfast, and then pop into town. Need to pay in 2 cheques for OH and I think I'm going to try and take our old double duvet to the launderette to wash so that it's clean before I vaccuum pack it. Also need to get some fruit from the market. Will catch up with flying when I get home.
Love to all,

:hello:Hi sexymouse!! Just thinking I hadn't seen you around this week - I hope it was because you had loads of lovely work! I survived the dentist - not a great deal of fun, and my tooth has been touchy all night - I can't bite on it without a stabbing pain, which is a surprise as it didn't give me any trouble before it was treated...
Just whisked the vacuum round, and I have huge amounts of laundry to do today. I'm supposed to be having a bit of a girly day with DD, so must dash and do all the work stuff before!
Hugs for AnW's mum. Gerberas can be tricky, as they are quite tender plants and usually grown in heated greenhouses. There are a couple of lookalikes that you may like to try:
rudbeckias - large cheery daisy flowers usually in shades of yellow and brown. Can be grown from seed or plants. Some will survive the winter.
osteospermum - daisy flowers, often with a satin sheen to the petals, some tender, some hardy (I can send you a chunk of a hardy one). Usually in shades of pink, purple and white - the tenderer ones usually the darker colours. A few from seed, but usually bought as plants, and often found in the patio plants section from April onwards.
Arctotis and gazanias - more South African daisies, in all sorts of colours, often with cheerful rings of other colours. Can be grown from seed, but again often as plants in the patio section from April. They close their flowers in dull weather and overnight, which children often enjoy.
All the above will thrive in the sunniest spot that you can find in the garden. They will grow in containers, although some of the rudbeckias can get very tall. Google for pictures!
If you want some easy annuals, then look for 'hardy annuals' on the packet.(Annuals mean you sow them in spring, they grow and flower this summer then die. They usually drop loads of seed that comes up on its own the following spring). The very easiest daisies are English (or pot) marigolds (may be labelled calendula) and Miss A may very well love them. Easy peasy to grow. Also, annual chrysanthemums. Both these can be sown direct in the garden - no need for pots or anything. Clear a patch of soil, scratch a narrow furrow, drop in seed, cover over again. Label if you like. Water if dry. Forget. Oh, keep cats off! They love seed beds! If you pick off all the dying flowers they will probably keep going until frost. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
I was outside this morning cleaning the conservatory windows and frames at 07:30 i think my neighbour thinks i am having a crisis. She came out to let the dog out and asked me if i was ok:rolleyes: can't a girl clean !!!
