kitchen not fitted as expected

hello, guys.
about six weeks ago i had a kitchen fitted (by a well known operator).
however, there were some specific changes in the kitchen that i had not agreed to. the saleman whom i dealt with stated that he had told me of these changes, but i insist that he did not (or rather that if he did tell me it was glossed over in such a manner that i left the showroom completely ignorant of the changes). i suspect that the changes were made by him to get the price down & keep me interested as i was in two minds whether to continue with the contract.
i wrote to the manager of the store but after one month i have had no written reply.
how should i proceed do you think? i'm still very disappointed that my kitchen is not what i was expecting.
thanks, hamble

Do you have anything in writing? And what were the specific changes?
Without proof of it being miss-sold you will have trouble making use of your rights if the kitchen is in working order and just to a different spec.
And when sending correspondence always send it recorded delivery so you can prove it was sent and that will also ensure a reply.0 -
thanks, leon&alison
i walked around the store with the salesman and told him of three specific things that i needed, & i went over the details several times so that he would be sure. however, when he fiddled around with the plans on his computer he did not inform me of the changes - not in any manner that would have made sense to me, because i am absolutely sure that if he had i would have walked away from the deal.
it's clear to me that he was trying to save me money, but in doing so he failed to advise me of the changes he was making, & i left the showroom believing that i would get the kitchen i had asked for, eg :
NEW 500 Tall Lrdr Cab (Pk 92) EX HINGE
(and similar listings for seven pages)
apparently this is the larder with pull out baskets rather than swing out baskets. the difference in price is a matter of pounds that i would have paid if i had known, but i wasn't given the chance to make an informed choice.
unfortunately the delivery invoice is filled with the usual abbreviations & gobbledygook that most people would have difficulty understanding unless they worked and dealt with them every day.0 -
Well i suggest you speak to citizens advice, they can be very helpful and im pretty sure invoices have to be clear as to what you paid for.0

I hate to say it but these big kitchen companies are only after one thing and thats your money, and unfortunatily as this is the case they have soundproof contracts which you will have signed. I really hope you have luck in getting what you want as this kinda stuff really winds me up but realistically you have signed a contract to fit what has been fitted but just didnt know it as you were sold it by a salesman rather than someone who would actually care about what you the customer wants.0

thanks, guys. is there any particular way i should approach the manager of the store? i wrote a letter, which he acknowledged receiving by phoning me, but i've heard nothing since, & that was a month ago. i wonder if it would help to write letters further up the chain? & what sort of things should i be stress in my letters?0
