Hotels in Bath

I'm looking for any deals or recommendations for a nice hotel in (central) Bath for a few days between 12-17 April - as this includes Easter I appreciate it will be busy/more expensive. My friend said The Crescent (?) looks fabulous but we can't afford it, rooms cost more than my mortgage payments!

We 2 girls want to have a nice relaxing time to catch up and have some pampering spa treatments, yummy food and drink etc. We also want to visit the baths, museums etc if there is time between relaxing and eating and drinking!

If anyone has been recently an can recommend some nice, clean and friendly places to stay, I'd love to hear about them! Many thanks.

hi, i live in bath, i have a few suggestions:

Firstly the Bath travelodge is v central and there are double ensuite room available for £60 per room per night, no breakfast but RSVP opposite or Jollys round the corner do lovely breakfasts. Clean hotel but nothing special. You wouldnt be in the room much anyway as bath has excellent shopping and nightlife so what you save on the room you could spend on going out and treatments.

OR, there are lots of very nice guest houses - see the below link:

    http://visitbath.co.uk/site/where_to_stay

Then you could go to local beauty salons or hotels for treatments:

http://www.iys.biz/ - they are central, 5 mins from Travelodge. Need to book in advance as popular.

    OR

    OR

Hotels with spa facilities include the following so could go as a day guest:
Royal crescent - I went there for a spa day and it was gorgeous, well worth it.http://www.royalcrescent.co.uk/bath_spa.asp
    OR

    Bath Spa Hotel -

This looks nice, just 5 mins by taxi from central bath

you could stay at a cheap b and b for 5 nights and stay at the bath spa for the last night maybe?? if you look on expedia the bath spa hotel has special offers now and again and you could get a room for £130 b and b.

I did look on expedia, all v expensive hotels, looking at £90 per night plus.

If you need any more help or ideas please email me.
    Hope this helps.

  • Hi again, something that may be useful to you if you are a group is the following Bath offers book:

    http://www.thebigfundraiser.co.uk/index.asp

There are deals on restaurants (2 main courses for price of 1 in many restaurants), 2 for 1 cinema tickets, drinks in local bars, food in bars etc etc, see link for full details. Worth getting if you are likely to be going out a lot plus gives you ideas of where to go. There are restrictions on group size for restaurant bookings but you could always sit on 2 separate tables! Also a lot of restaurants exclude sat night bookings but there are lots available.

    Dining in Groups

    When dining in a group of more than 2 people these rules apply;

    One bill per party

    No separate bills

No more than 3 Diners cards per party.

A maximum of 8 diners per booking.

When dining in a group the following number of Membership & Diners card is restricted as follows:

    Up to 3 diners = 1 card

    4 to 5 diners = 2 cards

    6+ diners = 3 cards

A maximum always of 3 Membership & Diners Cards may be used unless otherwise stated in the individual terms and conditions of the offer.

Worth doing though, i bought a book last year.

Re restaurants alot of bath restaurants do deals if you eat at 6.30pm rather than later, for example wife of bath restaurant which is v nice (google for details) does a 3 course meal for about £13.00 if you order from the special menu. bath gets busy at weekends so if you are a group then you would need to book in advance (recommended whatever size group you are actually as other wise you may not get a table).

I've stayed at the Bath Spa Macdonald hotel which was good, the second best was a Bestwestern and the third a Comfort hotel.

We regularly stay at a farmhouse just outside Bath but you do need to drive into Bath. It is so much cheaper than staying in town and leaves us with more money to spend on other things. If you are flexible and will stay a little outside Bath, you will find it much cheaper.
