Moving into my first house soon and have been shopping around for buildings and contents insurance for the past few months. More Than seems to come out a lot cheaper than anyone else. I just wondered if there was something specific I was missing as they are considerably cheaper than any of the other quotes I have had.

just check the values that youre covered for, in particular the value of contents (and specific coverage exemptions such as laptops, bicycles etc) and also the 'rebuild' insurance level for the house....

i agree though, i got given a REALLY cheap quote by my mortgage adviser, i've tried every web and high street insurer and cant get anywhere near it! - I'm not overly worried though

i was insured with more than - they were pretty good - nothing sinister at all. as said above - check the contents limits but when i was with them everything was fine.

IIRC More than policies give a ceiling of £500k rebuild costs - more than enough for 95% of the population.

Check your quotes are like for like. Accidental damage is the usual big difference. Well worth having though imho.

More Than are part of Royal and SunAlliance. I worked for RSA for 17 yrs and use More Than - trust me, I wouldn't if they were rubbish.


Dam silly name for an insurance company though. Premium MORE THAN anyone else ???
