You pay £5.50 for a three year card. You have to provide details of your DLA Award and a passport photo.
When you go to the cinema with someone else one ticket is totally free of charge!
Great for those of us who love going to the cinema!

Just as an update, since I applied for my three-year card on 2nd March they have altered it to one year
Had a look at the site as I have not received my card yet.
Still worth having, though, if you go to the cinema a lot0 -
Hi there Fantabulous...Very very new to this and to DLA, Could you, when and if you see this please post a bit more information on the cinema thing. I got LRM and MRC for 2 years and am currently receiving ESA CONT based....Any information you could provide would be grately appreciated....0

This is a very old thread.
You get a form from the website and fill it in with your photo. It means that when you go to the cinema you can take a carer free of charge with you.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
The card allows you to take a person to the cinema with your for free so you only pay for yourself. You must be receiving DLA (any rate)a AA (any rate) or be registered blind.0

alternatively ... send off for a free Orange pay as you go sim card ... 2 get in for the price of one every wednesday for the price of a text.0

The card lasts one year now and not three, I dont need the card, they let my carer in free regardless which saves the £5.50 which I wasted the one and only time I got the card and was too ill to go the the pictures for 18 months.0

I was just about to say my card only lasted a year, not three. Still quite a saving though, as both of us can see a film for the price of one...although our local cinema charges £7.70 each! While I wouldn't pay £15.40 for us to see a film, I don't mind £7.70 for two of us! Worth getting if you're on DLA.0

Unfortunately it looks like your suspicion about a free TV licence is correct, details of who can get one are here, which doesn't mention DLA I'm afraid.0
