Question about Thomas Cook vouchers

I have heard that we are being given £950 of Thomas cook travel vouchers through the family fund to take my daughter somewhere hot to help with her CF.
I have not recieved these before, and am wondering if they are the same as 'normal' TC voucher.
Obviously I am going to have to book through Thomas Cook, but am assuming the best policy would be to keep quiet about the vouchers until its time to pay, otherwise they will be reluctant to reduce the price, knowing that I dont actually have the choice to go elsewhere. As there will be 4 of us, we will have to pay a bit extra, so thats not the issue, but am wondering if anyone else has had these vouchers, and how to proceed?
Should I find a holiday I like in one of their brouchers, and then look elsewhere for better deals, then return to TC to show them what I can get elsewhere - see what they offer, and then book? Has anyone had these vouchers, and do they have any wierd stipulations, such as only valid for full brochure price?
sorry, bit of a ramble.....
any advice appreciated

Hi if these are Thomas cook worldwide travel vouchers they are just like cash to be used in any thomas cook outlet ie shop, tc direct, tc tv and tc.com for any travel product, the holiday itself, insurance, carpark, airport hotel sold by tc but not any money product ie travellers cheques, euros etc. You dont have to buy a tc holiday it can be any holiday they sell ie thomsons, cosmos, citalia, french life or cruise although you will probably get the best deal on a tc product.
If i were you i would go to the shop tell them what your looking for let them find you the best deal (most tc shops will pricematch their internet prices) agree on a price, proceed with the booking then when they ask how you're paying produce the vouchers. I use them all the time , personally think they're brilliant.
By the way what is CF. If you are going to have any special needs, or medical requests it will be much easier to book in a shop sooner than the net or phone as if you book with either of these the shop staff dont have the info for your booking to be able to help with anything.
Any more questions please ask.0 -

thank you for the advice, and sorry, yes, I do mean cystic fibrosis, I get so used to abbrieviating it I forget that it is meaningless for most people!
I shall go browse the website. I must admit the TC own holidays are coming up quite cheap compared to others anyway.

I had a woman phoning me from there the other day, to talk about my application, and also about some money towards riding lessons as well. I had emailed them as put the application in a while back, and had not heard anything. She asked was it to go abroad (my daughter really benefits from a good blast of hot weather) and so she said £950. Am just waiting for the letter to confirm it all, she said sometime this week.
I havent ever had anything from them before, so dont know what they give tbh.0 -
hey these vouchers are 100% legit, i work for thomas cook, and you just call the number with your letter, i believe the going rate is actually #950, as with bookings i have done recently they all seem to have this much vouchers. as with first post to ''kepping quite until time to pay'' this is not advisable as you must the number you call automatically directs you to an agent dealing with these calls so they will know you have them anyway, however you must always mention that you have vouchers as this has to be put in your booking notes and coded correctly, as with discounts, as these are worldwide vouchers ie just like cash it doesn't affect the discount you will be given, basically say you have a #50 off your next holiday voucher which is supplied by thomas cook you are not going to get anymore discount as thomascook have provided these vouchers therefore it comes out of there budget, whereas with family fun(ww vouchers) these are not given away by the company they are either bought in store or given by outside sources ie family fund. i hope this helps with others using these vouchers but they are basically like cash. one note is that if your are booking a hol which is due to travel in the next 14weeks you will be expected to pay for the total holiday upfront then this will be refunded to your card upon reciept of the vouchers, same with paying a deposit you will pay this on a card and have it refunded.0

Look at the expiry date of the vouchers. I got mine in august and they are dated 31/3/11. That doesn't give me long to use them. i would have thought you'd get 12 months in which to use them....0
