air con & solar window film in our flat

Hiya

I live in a top floor flat that has floor to celing windows all round. Its south facing and even in February when its sunny its like a greenhouse. I was wondering if amyone had any experience of fitting the above and if anyone knew of any drawbacks with either air con or solar window film. Fanks

I don't know anything about solar window film, but air conditioning eats the world's resources (and adds to your electricity bill) like nothing else, so do try to avoid it if you can.

Presumably you can't just open windows?

You might also consider solar-reflective blinds - great claims are made for these for conservatories. They are not cheap, unfortunately.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

Hiya thanks for your reply. Even if we open our windows the sunds glare makes the flat unbearable as its literally like living in a greenhouse. I appreciate your comment about the air con so I think I will go for solar window film and upgrade our blinds.

    Thanks again.

I work in a school and we have solar window film on a row of south facing classroom windows - fitted a few years ago. Works really well - especially at first when you really notice a difference. Cheaper option too.
