unsecured council tenancy agreement

hi just wondering if anyone can give some advice, we have recently applied for social housing but noticed a different property on our councils website, we are viewing it on tuesday, the problem is its an unsecured tenancy they have plans to demolish this house within the nxt 3-5 years, where would we stand if within that time we were not offered a secure property elsewhere, we have 2 children one who is disabled and im really concerned that if we accept this house we will be left facing homelessness when they want to knock down the property, but at the same time were desperate need of moving sharing one small "box" room between the four of us. the council have stated we would not have any priority above anyone else on getting re homed. thanks

I think these are questions you would need to ask your local authority. Sometimes they use these houses as a long term temporary accommodation, rather than putting a family into a bed and breakfast or such.
When I found myself homeless they found me a similar house but with an 18 month lease. I was offered a flat which suited my needs at the end of the tenancy, but every local authority is different, so you are best to ask them directly.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
