Exhausts/Tyres - Check your Invoice

Early last December I took my car to a very well known Tyre/Exhaust company for a part replacement exhaust. I was quoted £138 - knowing nothing about costs I accepted and assumed that the cost was for parts/labour/VAT. On checking my invoice - when I got home - I discovered that I had been charged £25 for an extended warranty that I had not been asked about or explained to me. The exhaust came with a 2 year guarantee and apparently the warranty extended this for a further 12 months. After several phone calls/emails/letters to the companys HO I have only just received a refund of this £25 ( this has taken 10 weeks!!! ). There has been no apology or explanation from them as to why their staff automatically charge for an extended warranty without first asking the customer. Please always check your invoice - you never know how many £25's this company has been making out of it's customers.

Probably because they get a commission for every one they sell and most people, unlike you, will not check their invoice or even if they do will not complain!!!
