Hello PPI thread!

Although I am at present claiming PPi from Barclaycard and First Direct for myself (haven't actually posted cos its all been so clearly explained in stickies and threads), whilst dealing with my DD'S credit card charges I noticed that she is paying 'Repayment cover' is this PPI of some description? I ask because she was stil in education (A Levels) when she got the card and only working under 16 hrs per week and now she is still paying whilst at Uni and definately working less than 16hrs per week.

Would appreciate any advice as she's really struggling.

Regards ML

I wouldn't be surprised as halifax kept trying to sell it to my OH even when he clearly stated he was a student so wasn't eligible. Morons!

    Yep, that is definately PPC/PPI.

notice in your post you say she was doing Alevels when applied - was she 18 at that point (assuming she went straight to college after school)

    Hello Oscar

Yes she was over 18 but only working p/t in a restaurant. I am glad we can have a go at re-claiming am I right in thinking she was mis-sold as she was not working enough hours?

    Kind Regards ML

I would think so, though Halifax will probbaly try and come back with "she was covered for everything else, just not unemloyment"

    Hello all!

Got a letter from Halifax today saying that they will refund all PPI + 8% to DD's account. This took less than 3 weeks from start to finish! Thanx so much, it will really help her get back on her feet at Uni.
I am still waiting to hear from B/card and First Direct are a problem as it was an online application, still that will be another story!

    kind regards ML
