Advent T9304 sound problems

I have an Advent T9304, it has a sound card, but will not play anything. The speaker in the minimise tray has a cross through it. Have plugged in Headphones and Speakers and it still won't work. I am running Windows Vista. Any help or information would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.
