HelpHire Car Insurance Accident/Claim

Options
Hi,

I was involved in a car accident where a car went through a red light and crashed into me in the left and front passenger side. My car has been classed a write off. Since the car was not safe to drive I called the AA who then offered to deal with the claim through Helphire. I have informed my own insurance co. I was fortunate to have a witness at the side of the road who verified the other party had travelled through a red light plus the witness in the car behind me. However the witness who verified this at the side of the road has submitted the witness statement to the other parties insurance and it reads that I am liable. Helphire have now ended my courtesy car cover and they are still waiting on my witness statement from the car behind me. My insurance are going to support me and I have enquired about legal cover. They can handle the claim but they need me to request Helphire to hand over the claim. There is no the issue that the other party has made up a witness who wasn't at the scene of the accident. Having recieved my witnesses copy of her statement now claims there were no other witnesses. I am definitely not at fault here and I am now wondering whether I should take it away from helphire or if this will just cause further problems. They will have my other witnesses statement on Monday. The cheque for my car that was a writeoff has not yet been sent through although helphire's co. that dealt with this sent me a form to agree to the amount they would send me. Will this still be paid? I have also cancelled my insurance since the car is a write off and with my courtesy car being taken off me what is the most cost effective way to get a car? I think it will be difficult to get insured with a claim not yet resolved. I have considerd renting a car however costs for 2mths are over 1,000.
