Houses for sale papers - Edinburgh and Bristol? and local advice?

Well, we've decided when we hit debt free that we'd like to move to an area in which we would be happier bringing up the kids, and have narrowed it down to Bristol or Edinburgh. Problem is, we seem to be spending hours on multimap and rightmove trying to work out where houses are. Is there anyone in either of these areas who would send us the house moving papers so we can see what we could get with our cash? We'll happily post you stamps and an envelope so it won't cost you anything! PM me if you will ....
Also, any recommendations over areas and schools? Our two are currently three and one (son will be starting school Sept 2007, daughter 2009) We'd really like to be outside of the city, but with a reasonable commute in for OH.
 Cheers!

Try the Edinburgh Solicitors Property Center (ESPC) website;
http://www.espc.com
They also have a weekly property guide paper which I'm sure you can get on a mailing list for. However, it generally doesn't have photos of properties, so the web site is better and you can download the full details as a .pdf. If you are visiting Edinbugh, they have a City centre showroom at 85 George Street
The ESPC used to virtually monopolise house sale promotion in Edinburgh but in recent years more 'English' style estate agents have moved in.
We moved to Edinburgh from England nearly 10 years ago and absolutely love living here. We're in Liberton, which we obviously like, but Morningside is THE place to be if you want to be surrounded by money...
The city centre is a bit of a tourist theme park and driving into the centre is a nightmare, but we hardly need to go into town (except to show visiting friends and relatives around). Public transport within the city bypass is pretty good, but outwith this area you'll have to rely on a car. Can't advise on schools as we're too old for them now...0 -
For Bristol check out the Western Daily Press0

If you want outskirts for Bristol then try somewhere like Longwell Green. You are on the Bath side of Bristol and are about 9 miles from the centre of Bristol and 9 miles from the centre of Bath.
Close to open fields and a the Bristol to Bath Cycle track. Good access to buses and regular to in to Bristol and not to far from the a park and ride as well.
Close by you have Homebase/Wickes/And a huge B&Q as well as a Hyper value best to stay out of as not very money saving as it is all so cheap. 24 hour Asda and about 6/7 miles away is a 24 hour Tescos. Also close by is a cinema, Bowling alley and wacky warehouse as well as a gym.
On the calfornia road estate there are lots of dead end roads so not lots of whizzing by traffic. The local estate agents are Frosts, Anne James and Andrews. Has a tescos express and post office and Harvester across the road. As well as a few take aways. Local library. Local social club with lots going on.
Can't tell you what the schools are like as I have no children.
I don't think it will have changed that much since I left nearly a year ago (was if that long ago we moved).
Hope that helps.
Yours

Edinburgh is considerably colder than Bristol so don't forget to factor in your increased energy costs. Enjoy your hunt.0

It is Dora, but Edinburgh is such a lovely city that for me that would overide the increased energy costs.0 -
Best just have a look at some of these sites for property in Edinburgh.
Or try and pick up a copy of the Scotsman newspaper. (not sure of the property day think it might be a Sunday)

As you prefer outskirts of Bristol, some of the places might be handled more by the estate agents in BATH.
