Seeing as the stats show that you have a 1 in 6 chance of suffering a claimable event before retirement it is worth having. Life assurance has a 1 in 5 chance so not much in it. Like any insurance, its only seen as a benefit when there is a successful claim.
You should contact your IFA that you used in setting this up as they should be able to do a lot of the work for you. Plus, they may be able to put some pressure on.
Whats probably happening at the moment is that they are dealing with the doctors to find out what the information is to verify if you have a claim or not. Sometimes this can take a little while as doctors are not always the fastest at responding and often it requires multiple contacts as something said may ask new questions.
The claims stats with most providers is very high with most around the 85% make on paying out.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Were you seen by a consultant in hospital? Even if you did not see one you would have been assigned to the care of one, surely he is the one who needs to write to the insurance company? Or could the CAB help on your behalf? My OH had health problems and the CAB were fantastic and helped him fill in forms etc they even came to the house as he was too ill to go to their office,
hope you get it sorted soon
xxGo hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0 -
Yes I Was Seen My A Neuoro Consultant And Am Still Under The Neuro Consultant I Am Due To See Him Again On The 10th March0

A successful outcome to your claim will mainly be achievable through your treating Consultant Neurologist's opinion and medical report to the Insurance company. If, as the treating consultant and expert in his/her field deem you to have suffered a stroke, then the onus, in this case is for the insurance company to then try to prove otherwise with another independent medical expert opinion.
I would speak with or write to the treating Consultant Neurologist to ask him/her to confirm his/her final diagnosis of your condition that warranted his/her input. He/she may charge a nominal fee for this service. It's worth giving it a try maybe in your next out-patient appointment.
Rather unfortunate that you're being put through this harrowing experience by the insurance company soon after a major life-changing and potentially fatal event.
Good-luck and all the best.Money is like a bird.....if mishandled, will simply fly away....0 -

This is probably part of the problem. If he isn't there to answer questions then the insurance company is stuck until he does.
Also, some doctors correspond via the GP. This can create an extra delay.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. It may be of benefit to contact the hospital Patient Advice Liason Service (PALS), it is possible that they can go through your notes with you. You may also be able to get a copy of the letter the Dr who sees you in clinic sends to your GP, just ask at the clinic they will give you a form to complete.0
