We have had good deals off these sites from time to time but they are not always the cheapest:
https://www.hotel club.net
https://www.freedomdirect.co.uk
https://www.holidaynights.com
Best Western is sometimes good.
Hope this helps!0 -

If you want a nice, cheap (and basic, it has to be said, but clean none the less) hotel in San Fran, I stayed at the Taylor Hotel back in 2006 and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for somewhere to stay on a budget. It's not flashy, but San Fran is an expensive city!0

Direct with the hotel0

No sure what dates you are traveling? but Travelzoo (the usa version) has great hotel offers, at the moment they have offers on the following SF hotels.
4* HOTEL MONACO SAN FRANCISCO - $120
You book direct with the hotel and use the following code TZP.
Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel - $120
4* Le Meridien - $149
Holiday Inn Golden Gateway - $69
You book direct with the hotel and use the following code ZOO."Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0 -
Try Hotwire. I know you won't know the name of the hotel till after you book but you can usually figure it out by its ammenities. We got Hyatt Fishermans Wharf for $89.0
