What Car magazine often mentions DriveTheDeal and the excellent prices. This does not mean that they recommend them. However, they would stop mentioning them if negative feedback was received from readers, I'm sure.

If you are thinking about leasing instead - see the PCP thread in this section.

On an average 18K car, you should SAVE about £10 / month over 36 months if you personal lease instead. It does depend on the car however, but £350 is good money...

In my old job i used to supply vehicles to three of the brokers you mention and i would have no second thoughts about recommending them to people. They all work in pretty much the same way of dealing with your enquiry untill you are ready to order then passing your details onto the relevant dealer who will take your deposit and order the vehicle.

Out of all the brokers there Pat Lawless of Carfile has been in the business the longest - he's been doing it for over 30 years and he gets a large amount of repeat and referal business.

Honest John is not a broker though but you will find a number of brokers advertising on his website.
  • Try https://www.dealdrivers.co.uk.

I saved £2000 off my new Ford Ka I bought last May, and the service was excellent. Check out their special offers page for the best deals.

I have used DrivetheDeal twice, once in 2001 to buy my parents a new corsa and again in 2004 to buy myself a new corsa.

Both times the process was very simple, paid small deposit to DrivetheDeal by credit card, then contacted directly by dealer (deposit taken off invoice by dealer), I was able to take up all the normal vauxhall offers on top, such as GM Point reductions, 0% finance and Free Insurance.

They followed up after delivery, to check all was OK.

They have been good experiences both times and saved quite a bit of money.

Do shop around, one online broker claims to be never beaten, but they were not willing to match DrivetheDeal prices.

I also saved money on a different new car with the Civil Service Motor Association (CSMA) https://www.csma.uk.com

The best deal I've seen (for me) on a Renault Megane Convertible was at broadspeed.co.uk - almost £5k saving on new - much more than any of the others mentioned above
