Touran, by far, because the auto DSG gearbox is absolutely brilliant. Drives like an auto but under the hood it's really clutch and gears, in many vehicle and engine combinations it's the same or better for performance and fuel compared to manual gears.
thanks - we went last night and only got to see the Touran as they couldn't find the keys to the galaxy . I found it a tad boxy and am leaning towards the Citroen Grand Picasso. I've gotten use to the large open front screen window of my Almera Tino and the Citroen looks similar. Hopefully will check that out tonight - however, the gearbox is the most imp thing as the second gearbox on our Tino has just failed
Will update later0 -
Hi I've got a Grand Scenic, I wouldn't bother tbh, I think it would be too small for all your crew! I have 2 girls 4 and 10. The 3rd row of seats are the type that can be tucked away under the boot space. They are very narrow and I personnally wouldn't use them for a stage 1 car seat. The sales person also told us that they are meant for only occasional use. HTH Having said that ,if you had 3 kids there is plenty of room in the 2nd row and loads of boot space for prams & shopping.Carpe Diem
I'm Qualified!

Yes we saw a Grand scenic and it def looked too small. I'm too tired to go car looking tonight though so the Citroen will have to wait.0

I do not think anyone has mentioned The Honda FRV !! I do not know if it would come into your price range buts its a very wide car 3 seats in the front and 3 in the back ??
I know it just has 6 seats but it may be enough for you ?????0 -
hmmmm I don't really relish having one of the kids with me at the front lol but will take a look.0

Honda FRV an appealing vehicle, but the way the rear seat bench is staggered makes for a oddly shaped and not very big boot. Has Honda's 2.2 diesel engine which is a "peach" though.0

we discussed it and decided we don't want kids in the front with us. It looks like it will probably be the Touran. Now it's just a question of finding one. I've found one 07 plate, 13,500 miles on the clock, 2.0 TDI SE 5DR DSG Diesal Estate, one owner, private sale, asking price £13,500. Still too high but maybe worth a look.0
